Celebrate Living History of Frankston on tour….

Plan Description:

Celebrate Living History of Frankston is looking for new homes not only in Victoria but Australia- wide! What I realised at the grand opening at Bartiste is the amount of interest in the photographs and the smiles on my “senior stars” faces when they saw their life celebrated in such a big community environment.

I would like to spread this love, not only are my senior stars from Frankston but some have migrated to sunny Brisbane to live, I met these folks while I was following the graduates of Frankston High School.

Some may call me nuts, but I managed to do all this exhibition on my own and really beleive if I put my mind to anything that I can make stuff happen!

I would like this exhibition to be celebrated all over Australia with the end destination being the Brisbane Powerhouse Museum.

My Big reasons are:

To make former “Frankston folks” smile and to really celebrate the stories of my senior stars. I hope this plan will be part of my overall vision to become a social enterprise that will nurture relationships between seniors and youth to celebrate stories about culture, history and community.

I would like to work with my student interns at Griffith University on the Gold Coast more and develop relationships with tertiary institutes around Australia.

I think this would be the perfect opportunity for students to be part of a unique start-up full of passion and community values.

My plan will be a success when:

Celebrate Living History of Frankston is successfully celebrated throughout Australia.

Currently Celebrate Living History of Frankston is at Bartiste till the 10th of November opening hours are: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm.

If you have a suggestion for the next destination or would like to sponsor Celebrate Living History of Franskton pop along to website Plan Big and let me know.

Mission 1: Complete Celebrate Living History of Frankston Mission 2: Become a not-for-profit social enterprise

So i’ve completed mission number one: Successfully run Celebrate Living History of Frankston but mission two is still in the works!

Right now i’m wading through paperwork to become a social enterprise which will enable me to continue working with students and seniors to celebrate stories about history, culture and community.

So i’ve come up with a new name Celebrate Living History and have quite a few statements of purpose including

1. Celebrate Living History aims to nurture relationships between seniors and youth to celebrate stories about history, community and culture.

2. To provide a nation-wide intern program for tertiary students that will bridge the gap between generations

3. To organise exhibitions, publications and video that will promote positive aging of seniors.

4. To provide opportunities for students to gain real life experience in event organising, journalism and aged care making it easier to gain graduate positions.

My main challange is to get Celebrate Living History Victoria running before the deadline of the Local History Grant Program which is on Monday 12 November.

I’m not sure if i’ll make it, but i’m going to try…its these letters that make me realise what i’m doing is for the greater good of the community and regardless if I receive the grant or not i’m going to keep going!

So Folks the Celebrate Living History magazine is here!

The Celebrate Living History magazine is a dream come true with stories by myself, student interns and the general public on senior stars showcased in one glossy publication.

Thanks to the AMAZING Tanya from Batdesign the Celebrate Living History magazine will be launched at the Celebrate Living History of Frankston exhibition on Sunday the 14th of October at Bartiste 2/12 Young Street Frankston.

Its all yours for $15 which will go towards establishing Golden Days Images as a not-for-profit social enterprise allowing me to continue working with both seniors and youth to celebrate stories for future generations.

Over the last seven months I have seen personally the positive effect of working with seniors and would like to establish a nation-wide student internship program which will nurture these relationships.

So come on folks help me out and lets Celebrate Living History!!!
